Sustainability Leadership
STMicroelectronics, one of the top five semiconductor makers in the world, is also a world leader in sustainability. For 15 years, ST has led the way in reducing carbon footprint, water usage and energy conservation. Yet its successes weren't well known outside of Europe, and ST was eager to improve its sustainability reputation globally, particularly in
the U.S.
Working actively with U.S.-based media, Stanton Public Relations & Marketing was able to place a bylined article, "Green Is the New Black," by the CEO of its American operations, in Chief Executive magazine, as well as a story in Industry Week. Thanks to our efforts, ST was also invited to participate in Fortune's 2009 Brainstorm: Green conference with some of the world's leading corporate and governmental authorities.
Pine Brook Road Partners Fund Launch
First-time private equity funds—even large ones—can have trouble generating attention from media, especially in a troubled economy. When Pine Brook Road Partners closed its $1.43 billion fund, Stanton got out ahead of the story and leveraged our strong contacts in the financial press to break the news simultaneously in the mainstream business press (New York Times Dealbook), and a major wire service (Reuters). These exclusives were followed by six launch-day interviews and corresponding coverage that accurately highlighted the firm's unique no-leverage, business building model.
In addition, we secured a firm profile in Buyouts, a leading private equity trade magazine that devoted two pages to a comprehensive story on Pine Brook that explained its early success in detail.
